How do I start a brief?
Describe your product range, where images will be used, preferred style (packshot or lifestyle), any models or props, and your target launch date. Freelancers will apply and you review applicants before Unicorn Factory makes warm introductions.
How long does a typical project take?
Turnaround depends on complexity — basic packshot jobs can be days, styled shoots and retouching usually take one to three weeks from shoot to final files. Confirm timings with the freelancer when you agree scope.
Can I use these photos on my website and socials?
Yes — usage is agreed in the brief. Make sure you and the freelancer confirm licence terms, any geographic or time limits, and whether additional uses (advertising, reselling) need extra fees.
Do I need a studio or can photographers shoot on location?
Both options are common. Studio hire may add cost but offers controlled lighting; location shoots add travel and time. The freelancer will advise what best suits your product and budget.
