The project
Project overview
The New Zealand Maritime Museum Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa needed a fresh identity for their Mini Māui kids' club – a brand that would feel playful and inviting to children aged 4–12.
The focus was on crafting something full of character that would fit in with the museum's wider branding while still standing on its own. Pastel marine colours were drawn from the museum's existing outdoor mural, tying the club's identity back to the museum's physical space, creating a cohesive experience. The result is a hand-drawn logo that feels warm and joyful, with a bubble motif nodding to the underwater world.
The visual language was extended further for the quarterly newsletter and other touchpoints – bubbles carry through from the logo, and a wave-shaped holding device lets the logo stand out cleanly against a white background.
