Project overview
As Radio New Zealand (RNZ) prioritised a digital-first content strategy—marked by the launch of an overhauled podcast ecosystem—the 2024 Annual Report required a visual system that actively embodied this transformation. Brought in-house for the first time, the publication serves to codify and advance the modern brand elements introduced across RNZ’s digital products over the previous two years.
Moving away from traditional retrospective reporting, the publication challenges public perception through structural innovation. The report is rotated onto its edge, shifting the reading dynamics to mirror the vertical scrolling behavior of a digital interface.
Executed with a Full-Canadian binding, the unique cover design yields an extended geometric canvas. This extra real estate houses a physical ‘digital navigation’ element along the edge, acting as a tactile nod to RNZ’s digital tools.
