About this project
The client wanted to explore a premium reusable water bottle that could stand apart in a crowded market while still representing good value against established brands. The challenge was to create a product that felt innovative, high quality, and desirable, while also being grounded in practical manufacturing thinking.
As the freelance Industrial Designer on the project, I began by exploring materiality, market positioning, form language, and CMF direction. The early design process included mood boards, sketch ideation, and a wide range of concepts, each looking at different bottle forms and user operated sealing lid options.
From there, I developed 3D models and renders to communicate materiality, texture, and proportion, while also using CAD to check internal volume, formability, tooling logic, and assembly requirements. The project also included mechanical lid ideation, 2D component studies, IP review, and 3D mockups of sealing mechanisms with moving parts.
The result was a premium product concept that balanced visual appeal, mechanical function, user interaction, and design for manufacture.
