Brand Strategy and Identity for Mataī Park Housing Development

The project

Project overview

Through Wellington's Werk creative agency, I worked with Faisandier Group to build an identity for their new housing development in Wainuiomata.

Mataī Park is a 69-townhouse development in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt, built by Faisandier Group. The key challenge was to sell a future promise: Wainuiomata is still seen as a satellite suburb of Wellington, and (at the time of the project) lacks both the 'trendy' character and the infrastructure desired by inner-city workers. However, these things are in development - and soon, Wainuiomata will be just as sought-after as many of the Hutt Valley's suburbs. We needed to ensure the development was inclusive, infused with the local character, and showcased the future of the suburb - all while remaining affordable and desirable for first-home buyers.

I conceptualised and developed the naming, brand and communications strategy, supporting copywriting, digital advertising campaigns and out-of-home media placements.
