What should I include in a storyboard brief?
Include the script or idea, the video length, whether it will be filmed or animated, how detailed the frames need to be, examples you like, and your deadline.
Do I need a storyboard artist or a scriptwriter?
A scriptwriter writes what is said. A storyboard artist shows what is seen. If you don't have a script yet, start with scriptwriting.
Do I need a storyboard for a short video?
Not always. For a simple talking-head video a shot list may be enough. Storyboards are most useful for ads, animation and anything with several scenes or people to approve.
