Meet Jamie Penney: Freelance Web Developer in Northland

Kia ora! My name is Jamie Penney and I am a full stack developer with nearly 2 decades of experience building high quality, scalable systems for startups and SMEs. For the last 8 years I have run a Software Contracting and Consulting business out of the far north.

I generally work with two types of customers: early stage startups needing a strong generalist, or more established companies that are struggling to hire good senior talent for a specific project on a short timeline.

I am a full-stack web developer. I have a strong background in backend development but am proficient in a number of front end technologies such ReactJS.

I also have experience in architecture and application design. I have delivered scalable, robust systems at a few growth-phase startups around New Zealand that you've almost definitely heard of (and I know for a fact some of my code is still running in production at one of them even though customer numbers are 100x what they were when the original design was put together).

I have used a large number of different languages and technologies across different jobs and contracts and have no problems picking up new ones where needed. My specialties include ReactJS, C# and the .Net framework, ASP.NET MVC, NodeJS, Python, and general application architecture and design.
