Meet Evan Thomas: Freelance Industrial Design & CAD Specialist in Auckland

Specialising in Industrial Design and Product Development with a focus on manufacturing-ready output.

I bring over 12 years of experience working for NZ's leading design firms, contributing to products spanning consumer hardware, wearable technology and engineered assemblies progressing from early concept through to production.

​

I bridge the gap between product vision and manufacturing reality. I support product teams with concept sketching, visualisation, prototyping, CAD, and designing for manufacture. I particularly enjoy developing elegant solutions across injection-moulded components, sheet metal products, fabricated assemblies, and extruded parts.

My professional setup includes the latest SolidWorks, KeyShot, in-house SLA and FDM 3D printers, and a secure remote workflow. I work collaboratively through Miro to allow fast iteration, clear communication, and efficient delivery throughout the development process.
