Meet Anne-Marie Emerson: Corporate Editing & Proofreading in Whanganui

I'm a professional editor and proofreader who helps New Zealand businesses and organisations produce clear, concise writing.

I specialise in corporate documents such as reports, plans, strategies, websites, proposals and applications, and policies and guidelines. I have a particular interest in the local government sector.

I can edit for basic errors (such as spelling, grammar, and punctuation) through to restructuring and rewriting – and everything in between. Depending on the project, I can even write it for you.

I have six years’ experience working with New Zealand businesses and organisations. In the past year I have worked with clients in the energy, education, sustainability, startup, health and aged care, digital technology, research, arts, and local government sectors.

My background is in journalism and communications. For more than 15 years I worked as a newspaper journalist and a communications specialist in the local government sector.

I have a postgraduate diploma in journalism from Massey University, and a diploma in proofreading and editing from the New Zealand Institute of Business Studies. I am a professional member of the Institute of Professional Editors (Australia and New Zealand).

I thrive on deadlines and can often turn projects around at short notice. I am available for one-off projects and long-term collaborations.
