Ruth Woodward is a Communications Specialist from Christchurch
I am a seasoned writer and journalist with 40 years' experience in radio, newspaper and public relations, the latter being mainly local government as a communications specialist for Western Bay of Plenty District Council. My forte is news gathering; reporting on events; local government policy and freelance articles for magazines. I have a Bachelor of Art University of Waikato; spent almost a year at University of Canterbury School of Journalism before going straight into radio reporting in Central Otago. I have a Diploma in Proof Reading and Editing from the NZ Institute of Business Studies (Merit 2019). I have worked for Te Puke Times (Editor); Bay of Plenty Times (reporter and sub-editor); Western Bay of Plenty District Council; Horse and Pony magazine (freelance); SmartGrowth (contract). I am moving from Tauranga in March and relocating to Christchurch where I am keen to source work.
