Kate Collins is a Graphic Designer from Auckland
I am a freelance graphic designer based in Auckland with over ten years experience in the fashion industry. I have a degree in Fine Art which comprised printmaking and Early Childhood Studies, studied Graphic Design at Auckland’s Media Design School and have a commercial background in apparel | textile design specialising in childrenswear. I have a wealth of experience in trend forecasting | print research | creating mood boards and colour palettes | styling for flat lays and photoshoots / creating storyboards | assisting buyers with ranging | factory ready graphic illustration and appliqué for apparel and textiles | recolouring | spec drawings | lab dip and print approvals | logos and branding. My passion is playing with colour and collating print trends. I have worked for JK Kids, Longbeach Holdings (Ezibuy, Farmers and Max), The Baby Factory, The Warehouse and smaller boutique brands all of which have broadened my range of skills in trend forecasting and graphic design. Working for smaller companies has given me a very hands-on approach and enabled me to learn about aspects of business that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to experience in a larger company. I am able to effectively manage my own time and remain calm under pressure working well both collaboratively and autonomously. I am loyal and passionate about the brands I work for and work tirelessly to meet deadlines.
