I've been working primarily as a Front-end developer for 12 years. Prior to this, my background and Honours Degree is in Visual Communication (Graphic Design). I've moved from Branding and Graphic Design into the world of development and have found my skills are best suited to custom building websites and integrating them into a custom Wordpress CMS solution.

I have been told that a huge asset to my work is that I am able to build websites with a design eye and great attention to detail. Many designers seem to find a frustrating gap in the translation of their work onto the browser, finding it clunky and with obvious detail neglected. I am able to take a few pages of design and create a full website by understanding the design direction. Although I love focussing on development, I am able to offer a full service of design to development to deployment. For smaller businesses I often recommend Squarespace and enjoy offering a full service for this solution. For large corporate websites I am best suited to the Front-end/integration role.

I've worked in-house for digital agencies in the past and now that I am a freelancer I still contract to a couple in Auckland and Whangarei on a project by project basis. I'm also co-founder of a start-up business ROLL (project management software) and so have UX/UI experience and have spent some time working through lean start up methodologies.
