My services were engaged by marketing agency Maverick Digital to redesign the Spirits of the Red Sand logo and print marketing materials. My Approach Working alongside the Maverick Digital team, I explored Aboriginal arts, culture and themes to determine an authentic look and feel for the new logo. Rich, earthy colours were chosen for the colour scheme, reflecting the natural pigments often used. The use of circles and traditional dot painting has been a feature of Aboriginal abstract art for thousands of years and for many people, this typifies Aboriginal art – I felt it was important to use this highly recognisable style within the logo design. The Impact The client was thrilled with the new look and feel for their brand, which enables potential guests quickly recognise this unique and authentic experience. Initially launched in 2017, Spirits of the Red Sand is quickly becoming an iconic, educational attraction for regional and international guests.
