Hogarth Chocolate - Ana Aceves

After engaging several international design agencies without landing on a solution they were happy with, Karl and Marina Hogarth were put in touch with me, based only a few km from their craft chocolate factory floor.
Initially I was briefed to make an extremely minimal high-end luxury design.
The design really came together when they connected with an illustration I had already created of a boat at sea, and so we embossed the illustration on expensive art paper stock and the Hogarth chocolate brand was born.
After some success and increasing demand to stock Hogarth Chocolate on supermarket shelves the design needed to evolve into a more commercially viable treatment.  Maintaining the initial elements, I created a much larger/bolder packaging that made Hogarth stand out on the shelves, while bringing unit production costs down.
All the while, the bar itself remained the same.  Karl didn't want a standard 'block' design for the bar, and with inspiration from the original illustration I designed a layout for the chocolate mould, a work of art in its own right.  With Danny's help we created a 3D render of the bar design which after approval was converted to a 3D model and sent to Europe to be made into a beautiful mould.
Hogarth chocolate has received international recognition for both flavour and design and continues to grow from strength to strength.
