Experienced UX designer required for (Google Ventures style) Design Sprint in Wellington. Working with the innovation team at professional services firm and a utility company you will be designing a ‘sales experience’ by creating a new Minimum Viable Product/Service (MVP). The MVP needs to be convincing enough for customer to commit to buying the prototype product or service – it is not a finished product, it is a sales experience. Mobile App Developer

in

Screenshot example image of one of the proposed features: https://imgur.com/uv7eTqk DETAILS: An app that allows users to connect with salon professionals in their area and browse hair and beauty photos for inspiration. We want to build a photo-centric app for this space that's similar to one used by Houzz.com, except instead of the home-remodeling & interior design sector, we want to address the hair and beauty sector. I've been working on several design iterations of this app (including prototyping and full-color wire-frames) that allows users to discover their "stylist soulmate" and to source and save inspirational hair & beauty ideas for their next great hair style. I'm considering calling it KarmaDea. I've also spent an ample amount of time surveying the different stakeholders (salon clients, salon pros, salon owners) and I've incorporated several of their suggestions wherever a common theme emerged. Here's a brief overview of the problem we are aiming to solve: Women change hairstyles, cut, or hair color about 150 times on average in their lifetimes. PROBLEM The recurring process of searching for and organizing inspirational hair images, and ideas, for every change-up is both time consuming and tedious. And once "The" style is finally narrowed down, a salon patron must locate a stylist with the right combination of talent, creative vision, and experience to get the job done right the first time. Failure really isn't an option when it comes to a woman's hair. SOLUTIONS Discover Inspiration -- Users can browse thousands of the latest hair & beauty images submitted by salon professionals. Save and organize thier favorite inspiring photos to "look-books" (personal folders) that they can also share with friends and social connections. Find The Stylist Who "Gets You" -- KarmaDea relies on images to pair the right stylists with potential patrons. The app would allow users to select image(s) from our entire photo archive of hair and beauty photos, followed by them clicking on "Style-Match", an integrated visual api that would cross reference those selected images and compare them to the contents of images held in the portfolios of participating stylists, manicurists, hair colorists, barbers, nail techs, and several other salon professionals. [if a visual api will not work then we will rely on the contributing salon professionals to tag their photos, perhaps easing the process by providing a tag drop down pre-populated with the most common keywords]. The salon pro whose own images best match the user's selections will have their profiles listed in ranked order and will be sorted by proximity to the user by default. To learn more about any stylist in the list they can click on on the Pro's profile and be able to see everything about them including their photo portfolio, bio, credentials, online customer reviews, and more. An in-app messaging feature and displayed phone number lets users contact the stylist directly, ask questions, get advice, and arrange an appointment with eyes wide open well before they ever sit in the chair. After a successful salon visit they can follow up by using a built in referral feature to recommend the salon pro to their friends. Multiple monetization features are included (like relevant ads placed at intervals within the photo-deck of hair style images user browses through, sponsored sections, and more.) Salon Pros and Salon owners can build their own professional Profile Pages and upload their entire Digital Portfolios to the App, view user engagement metrics on their own dashboard, upload tutorial videos, place advertisements, sponsor sections, and more.
